Recombinant Rat Interleukin-1 alpha

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Recombinant Rat IL-1a produced in E.Coli is single, a non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 155amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17703 Dalton. The rrIL-1a is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

SOURCE: Escherichia Coli.

FORMULATION:
The protein was lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) sterile solution containing 50mM Tris-HCL, pH=8.

PURITY:
Greater than 98.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE. (c) Anion-exchange FPLC

STORAGE:
Although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, it should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution store at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

SOLUBILITY: It is recommended to reconstitute in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY: IL-1a is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of murine D10S cells is < 0.005 ng/ml, corresponding to a Specific Activity of 2 x 108 IU/mg
