PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
E. coli derived recombinant. The protein contains the C-terminus of gp120 and most of gp41.

PURIFICATION METHOD:
S-Sepharose> Ceramic Hydroxyapatite> S-300.

PURITY:
Protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining).

PROTEIN CONCENTRATION:
1. 1mg/ml in 50 mM Tris. pH 8.0, containing 0.1% SDS, 5 mM DTT, and 2.5 mM EDTA. (Proper for ELISA)
2. 5 mgs/ml in 8 M Urea, 20 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM EDTA, 10 mM b-mercaptoethanol, pH8. (Proper for ELISA and membrane applications)
3. 3 mgs/ml in 10 mM Citrate pH 3.0. (Proper for ELISA)

STORAGE:
Protein is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon arrival, store at +4°C.

STABILITY:
Five years frozen. Four months in solution at room temperature.

SPECIFICITY:
Immunoreactive with all sera of HIV-1 and HIV-type O infected individuals and with 60-80% of HIV-2 infected individuals.

APPLICATIONS:
Antigen in ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for early detection of HIV seroconvertors with minimal specificity problems.
